Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis)
Hyssop has a herbaceous, spicy,
sweet, warm, slightly camphoraceous scent. It's scent is
uplifting to the spirit, lends direction and clarity to the mind, increases awareness and is calming to emotional extremes. The oil is steam distilled from the stems/leaves
of the plant.
Hyssop has been used
for hundreds of years for its disinfecting and antiseptic properties. This oil is also really
invaluable when diffused in your home when battling bronchitis.

This oil blends very well with lemon, orange, bergamot, clary sage, geranium, myrtle and fennel.
Massage oil for ankle and heel contusions:
- 10
drops Hyssop
- 10
drops Cypress
- 8
drops Geranium
- 2
drops Lavender
In a small
dark glass bottle mix the
essential oils together and add 1
oz (30ml) of V6 Mixing oil or other
vegetable oil. Label your bottle
so you'll remember what's in it. Apply 3 times a day to the heel and ankle.

Reviving bath: Add 8 drops of
Hyssop to a bath, after the
water is drawn. Mix it well and
enjoy. This is great for
fatigue, depression, nervous tension and stress. Some gentle music and candlelight would be a great addition.

Hyssop is generally listed as an
oil to avoid during pregnancy. Avoid if epileptic.
For really, really dry skin. This is apparently a wonderful moisturizer.
- Use an empty 15 ml bottle.
- Put in 8 drops of cypress,
- 8 drops of lemon
- 8 drops of patchouly and
- 10 drops of frankincense.
- Then fill the rest of the bottle with Cel-lite Magic.
- Use this as a moisturizer after you have cleaned your facial skin.
