Cistus (or Labdanum) (Cistus Ladaniferus)

Cistus has an amber, balsamic, rich, spicy, sweet, warm, dry, musky and long lasting fragrance. Cistus has been said to be soothing, warm and comforting and mildly erotic. Often used after a traumatic event or aiding in meditation and centering. The oil is distilled from the branches.

This oil blends very well with lavender, cedarwood, jasmine, clary sage, neroli, lemon, bergamot and orange.

Evening Bath:
5-10 drops Cistus
Add the oil to the water after you have run your bath water. Swish it around very well and then hop in. This bath aids in counteracting shock, grief or emotional coldness.
Diffusing Stress
This oil is wonderful when you diffuse it during meditation or when trying to relax.

Cistus is generally listed as an oil to avoid during pregnancy.
